Last weekend we went to San Antonio.  Maddie had a singing competition in nearby San Marcos.  It was a great family trip.  She got the highest rating possible and was declared an "all state winner".  We're super proud of her even if we did forget to take a picture:)  We spent Saturday at Sea World, and on our way home we stopped by the San Antonio temple for a picture.

Corey and I went to dinner with some friends at "The Fatted Calf" restaurant Friday night, it was yummy.  We're saying goodbye to the Davidson family who have become good friends.  They're moving to Georgia.  I'm sad because she's my good running friend, and Ephraim is sad because it's his best friend Daniel.  They ask for each other every day.  (And it's really fun to holler to them, "Hey Eph..Dan.."  it's from 7 brides for 7 brothers)

Still house hunting and looking for answers of where we're supposed to live when we get kicked out in a couple of months.  This week we drove to a neighborhood farther in the country (ten minutes out) to check out some lots.  My friend had the little ones, so it was just corey and I.  We followed the map app exactly even though the road we were on turned from paved to not.  This was the day after the huge storm.  I noticed some water along the sides of the road, and we decided it might not be stable...a little too late.  We slid off one side, got back on the road once, and slid off again as we were trying to back out.  We tried for a good 45 minutes and got VERY stuck in the mud.  No tow trucks would come help us, so we left it overnight and came back with Corey's truck the next morning.  The kids had fun cleaning the car up, but not as much fun as Corey had in the mud.  You would think we would be turned off to that area, but it did the opposite.  It was so peaceful out there, and smelled good and seemed like a nice "Idaho-ish" area.  So now we're hoping to maybe build out there.

Here are a few more pictures with explanations:) I'm loving this blog.  Thanks Lex!

    Love you all!!!

This one was at the Piano Guys concert a couple of weeks ago. The picture with Justin and Kim was cuter, but it's already on facebook.  It was so fun to go to it together.

Me and my girls at Target for part of our girls night while the boys were camping out. And below, we tried homemade cupcakes.  It was the first time I've made them from scratch.   super good

super cute Clara in her "basketball" skirt.

What a great big brother!

Eph and Nori at one of the shows.
                                                 They were all very impressive!
as close as we could get to the San Antonio Temple
all cozy mostly thanks to grandma Bev! :)
Just a little friend I found while running.  We've also seen a few smashed toads, a turtle, and a live crawdad
The day of the tornado warning was pretty scary here.  I came around the corner and saw Nori like this. I took a picture without disturbing her then I asked her what she had prayed about, she said, "To make the storm stop and please don't be a tornado"

The three elementary kids home from field day!

  1. So how far did you have to walk after you got stuck? There's not enough water on this side of the state to get stuck in the mud. There was a lot of flooding in San Antonio over the weekend. When did you go?

  2. Hi Justin:) We went the weekend before. It didn't rain while we were there I don't think. Maddie's competition was like the 17th, so it was that weekend. I can't believe how much it's been raining here. Everything's super green, and there are tons of snakes and spiders and frogs and stuff ;P Hey, tell me again when you and Kim will be in Idaho. So when you come for Grover's sealing, you'll drive your family back then? ? Will your house be done?

  4. I loved the pictures! In the one of Nori and Eph, Nori doesn't look like Nori! Haha it looks like one of Corey's nieces (I can't remember her name, but it looks just like her!)

  5. We'll drive up to Utah June 29th and see Jeff and Emi then to Tracens for a day then up to Idaho probably by the 2nd or 3rd of July. On July 9th Kim will drive me to SLC and I'll fly back to Lubbock. I'll then fly to SLC July 25th in time for Grovers sealing and stay through that weedend, then drive back to Lubbock on the 29th and 30th. We just spoke with our builder today. The house is all framed and the electrical goes in tomorrow. He said we should be ready to close July 20th. So hopefully it all works out okay that we can go right to our new house after the sealing.
