Last weekend we went to San Antonio.  Maddie had a singing competition in nearby San Marcos.  It was a great family trip.  She got the highest rating possible and was declared an "all state winner".  We're super proud of her even if we did forget to take a picture:)  We spent Saturday at Sea World, and on our way home we stopped by the San Antonio temple for a picture.

Corey and I went to dinner with some friends at "The Fatted Calf" restaurant Friday night, it was yummy.  We're saying goodbye to the Davidson family who have become good friends.  They're moving to Georgia.  I'm sad because she's my good running friend, and Ephraim is sad because it's his best friend Daniel.  They ask for each other every day.  (And it's really fun to holler to them, "Hey Eph..Dan.."  it's from 7 brides for 7 brothers)

Still house hunting and looking for answers of where we're supposed to live when we get kicked out in a couple of months.  This week we drove to a neighborhood farther in the country (ten minutes out) to check out some lots.  My friend had the little ones, so it was just corey and I.  We followed the map app exactly even though the road we were on turned from paved to not.  This was the day after the huge storm.  I noticed some water along the sides of the road, and we decided it might not be stable...a little too late.  We slid off one side, got back on the road once, and slid off again as we were trying to back out.  We tried for a good 45 minutes and got VERY stuck in the mud.  No tow trucks would come help us, so we left it overnight and came back with Corey's truck the next morning.  The kids had fun cleaning the car up, but not as much fun as Corey had in the mud.  You would think we would be turned off to that area, but it did the opposite.  It was so peaceful out there, and smelled good and seemed like a nice "Idaho-ish" area.  So now we're hoping to maybe build out there.

Here are a few more pictures with explanations:) I'm loving this blog.  Thanks Lex!

    Love you all!!!

This one was at the Piano Guys concert a couple of weeks ago. The picture with Justin and Kim was cuter, but it's already on facebook.  It was so fun to go to it together.

Me and my girls at Target for part of our girls night while the boys were camping out. And below, we tried homemade cupcakes.  It was the first time I've made them from scratch.   super good

Eph and Nori at one of the shows.
                                                 They were all very impressive!
as close as we could get to the San Antonio Temple
all cozy mostly thanks to grandma Bev! :)
Just a little friend I found while running.  We've also seen a few smashed toads, a turtle, and a live crawdad
The day of the tornado warning was pretty scary here.  I came around the corner and saw Nori like this. I took a picture without disturbing her then I asked her what she had prayed about, she said, "To make the storm stop and please don't be a tornado"

Great Holiday Weekend

We had such a fun weekend.  We went to visit Grandpa and Grandma Cook's grave on Sunday. Monday we went to visit Grandpa and Grandma Peterson's grave and then we went up to the sand dunes. We are digging a sandbox for the kids. So while the kids played in the sand, Scott and I filled the truck and trailer up with sand (not an easy task on a windy day). We have dug a spot out in the backyard to make a cute sandbox.  Pictures of the box are still to come.  Hope you all had a great holiday weekend.

Spring in Lubbock

Here are some pictures of our family.  Mike you don't have to look if you don't want to.

Swimming in the backyard on Memorial day

Ava's dance recital

Camping out.  We ended up sleeping inside because it was too windy and too hot.
Every May 4th everyone in town sets up their lemonade stands.  Is lemonade day just a Lubbock thing?

Here is a test post! :)
My kids graduated this last week, and now it's summer break! We had a party for them on Thursday, and now I'm just prepping for Summer Camp which is in June. Here is a picture of one of my favorite little girls who is moving back to Provo. They came here a couple years ago from Vegas just for our program. Her dad couldn't find a job any closer than Provo, so Mom and the two little girls have been living in a camp trailer for 2 years, just seeing Dad on weekends or every other weekend. Such a great family and I'm going to miss her!

Marc and I went on a hike today to Green Canyon. It was about 2 miles. We had to catch bugs on the way. Marc's in an entomology class and has to make a bug collection, so anytime we find any sort of bug, it goes in a jar in the freezer. I can't wait until that's done! However, it was kind of fun to watch him try to catch a butterfly today. :) We also washed the car (first time I've ever done it at an actual do it yourself car wash--I've always just done it at home with the hose!) and then we got snow cones. First ones of the summer and they were delicious! :)

Oh and...I cut my hair a couple weeks ago. :) 14 inches off!!
